Video game addiction is increasingly recognized, especially among young players, due to game designs and in-game purchases that encourage prolonged play. Victims of video game addiction may be eligible for compensation for medical expenses, mental health treatment, pain and suffering, and other damages. Eligibility applies to those who began gaming before age 18, regularly played after 2015, and have been diagnosed with a gaming-related condition.Health conditions linked to video game addiction include:
  • Mental Health Disorders: ADHD/ADD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Gamer's Rage, Gamer's Withdrawal, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Suicide Attempts
  • Neurological Issues: Seizures, changes in CT/MRI brain scans
  • Musculoskeletal Injuries: Carpal Tunnel, Gamer's Thumb, Trigger Finger, DeQuervain's Tenosynovitis, Tennis Elbow, Neck Sprain/Herniation
  • Vision Problems: Computer Vision Syndrome, Computer Vision Loss
  • Other Conditions: Hypertension
